Amy Jo joined Vital Living in August, 2016.  She lived in Austin, Texas for 12 years prior to moving back to Fort Wayne and in Bermuda and Hawaii before that.  She joined the Navy at 18 and between Virginia Beach and Atlanta she served for 7 years.

Her interest in Massage Therapy began at The Rolf Institute in Boulder, Colorado in 2008 where she learned Myofascial Release and Structural Integration.  Amy Jo then graduated from A New Beginning School of Massage in 2012 in Austin, Texas. It was there that she discovered her love for Shiatsu (Japanese Bodywork) and Thai Massage (Thailand Bodywork) which together incorporate a traditional combination of acupressure, energy meridian work and yoga-like stretching for an invigorating albeit relaxing and balancing experience.  Her Thai-Shiatsu Massage, Deep Tissue and Myofascial Massage work wonders in helping relieve symptoms of neuropathy, PTSD, migraines, hip dysfunction, low back pain, etc… and are ideal for those wanting to relieve pain and reconnect their body and mind. Thai-Shiatsu is done on a mat on the floor while the client is wearing loose comfortable clothing.

Amy Jo loved using her treatment skills with tri-athletes, runners, walkers, cyclists, and fitness enthusiasts at Austin’s Premier Sports Massage Clinic.  She also finds this type of work especially beneficial for dancers, yogis and musicians, as well as most people in general.  She has provided massage at music festivals and public events throughout Texas and beyond.  In fact, an event that is dear to her heart is the Camparet Bellydance Camp in Texas which she returns to yearly to work with 50 belly dancers.

Amy Jo has been entranced with dance from a young age and has had a special love affair with belly dancing for the past 14 years. She was even the President of the Austin Bellydance Association for 3 years. Amy Jo also enjoys yoga, photography, bonsai, gardening and cooking. We can tell you she’s also an excellent writer.
