Joanne DeVaris, ARCB
Nationally Certified Reflexologist | Fort Wayne, Indiana
Joanne DeVaris is a Nationally Certified Reflexologist (ARCB) serving the Fort Wayne community at Vital Living Integrative WellSpa. With nearly a decade of experience, her work focuses on reducing pain, calming the nervous system, and helping the body regain balance—especially when stress, injury, or chronic conditions make it difficult to function at your best.
Joanne’s path into reflexology began in a very real place. She first used reflexology to help her son manage physical pain related to a muscle condition. Seeing how effectively it supported his body changed the way she understood healing and set the foundation for how she works today: attentive, steady, and grounded in what actually helps people feel better.
People often come to Joanne when they are dealing with persistent pain, poor sleep, nerve discomfort, or ongoing stress that hasn’t resolved with rest alone. Many seek her out for migraine headaches, chronic pain, hormonal regulation, neuropathy, anxiety, and sleep disturbances. She regularly works with neuropathy related to diabetes and chemotherapy, as well as sciatic pain and other nerve-related symptoms that affect daily comfort and mobility.
Joanne completed her core training at the Baltimore School of Reflexology and continues advanced education in areas that commonly affect quality of life. Her experience includes working with clients managing stress overload, chronic conditions, diabetes, hormonal changes, pregnancy, menopause, and recovery after illness or injury.
A large part of Joanne’s work centers on foot health and function. Many clients see her for post-injury or post-operative foot support, or when foot pain is interfering with balance, work, or movement. Common concerns include bunions and bunion surgery recovery, hammer toes, plantar fasciitis, heel and Achilles pain, ankle instability, arch strain, cramping, and forefoot discomfort. Joanne is especially well known for her work with orthopedic foot issues, offering confident, deeper foot work when appropriate, while remaining attentive to nerve sensitivity, inflammation, and individual tolerance. She is actively expanding her education in orthopedic foot conditions, supporting people who are preparing for surgery, postponing surgery, or rebuilding strength and stability afterward.
Her sessions are practical, calming, and trauma-informed. Joanne’s approach is not about forcing change—it’s about helping the nervous system settle so the body can respond more effectively. When appropriate, she incorporates Usui Reiki to support relaxation and recovery, particularly for clients dealing with high stress, grief, burnout, or long-term health challenges.
In addition to reflexology, Joanne is a Usui Reiki Master Teacher and Certified Life Coach. She has volunteered as a Reiki practitioner at a women’s shelter in Washington, DC, and has completed extensive training in trauma-informed care, non-violent communication, and hospice support. Her background allows her to work comfortably with people from many walks of life, meeting them where they are without judgment or assumptions.
Clients often describe Joanne’s sessions as grounding, stabilizing, and deeply restorative. Many notice improvements in pain levels, sleep quality, stress tolerance, and overall physical ease. Her calm presence and clear communication help clients feel supported—whether they are managing chronic conditions, recovering from injury, or simply trying to feel more like themselves again.
Joanne believes reflexology should be accessible, respectful, and effective. Her goal is to help people move through their days with less pain, better rest, and a stronger sense of balance in their bodies.
